Starting June 27, 2025, all employee permits will be physical permits (no longer based on license plate numbers). Park Crested Butte will be distributing the physical permits prior to June 27th. The Crested Butte and Gunnison valley has two excellent and free public transportation systems:
Gunnison Valley RTA: RTA provides bus service from Crested Butte to Gunnison with multiple stops in between including CB South.
The Mountain Express: Provides bus service between Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte along with separate routes serving just Mt. Crested Butte.
